Junior Division
Beginner Quizzer of the Year | Sadie Vargas
This quizzer is a trooper! They have been quizzing for a few years now and often have to do the bulk of the work for their team. Despite often being the only one buzzing in they still continue to try hard and doesn’t let it get them down when they get one incorrect. They have mastered the “shake it off and move on.” They have excellent sportsmanship, always have a good attitude, and are consistent! We believe this quizzer will go far!
Beginner Quizzer of the Year Runner-Up | Sophia Rodriquez
This quizzer is hardworking and has shown mastery of their material by completing it all this year! They try their best and wins and loses with grace. One of their nomination comments said, “excellent quizzer with a bright future in bible quizzing,” and we agree!
Junior Quizzer of the Year | Sawyer Steele
This quizzzer is hardworking, has been quizzing for several years, dedicated, humble, and kind. They represent their church and our district well! You can see their love for God’s word in their actions. They have excellent sportsmanship, win or lose!
Junior Quizzer of the Year Runner-Up | Mia Deckens
This quizzer is hardworking, quiet at times, has great sportsmanship, humble, and kind. They have shown great growth this year, are willing to step out of their comfort zone and grow, and have even learned all their material this year! They are also involved in other district areas, as they were Toby’s Top Dog!
Junior Coach of the Year | Sis. Melinda Deckens
The nominator said it well, so we will again quote them, with pronouns redacted, “Persistent, helpful is willing to take the extra steps that is necessary to helping the children not only learn God‘s word, but understand it and love it [they] wears many hats, but besides these wonderful attributes, her are not shy to battle for our children spiritually. We have a lot of coaches that deserve honor But I had the pleasure of watching this coach personally, and I admire her.”
Junior Coach of the Year Runner-Up | Bro. George Silva
This individual has an excellent spirit, is always kind, has great sportsmanship and you can see their love and passion for Bible quizzing. They are great with their quizzers and push their quizzers to excel and do well. They are pleasure to have in your sessions, are consistent, dependable and faithful.
Senior Division
Intermediate Quizzer of the Year | Daniel Deckens
This quizzer is very kind, helpful, works very hard to learn all their material, has excellent sportsmanship, and is quick to encourage and support their peers. They have represented their church well, improved this year, and stood out as a great example to their peers.
Intermediate Quizzer of the Year Runner-Up | Selah Navarrete
One of the nominators said it well, so we will quote them with a few pronouns redacted, “Not only are they a great first-year quizzer, I admire that they jumped into quizzing as a senior. It can be really hard to start being a quizzer as a senior because often the opposing teams have been quizzing since they were beginners. They do a really great job and has an awesome attitude.”

This individual has shown excellent control of material, incredible attitude and spirit, wins and loses with grace, has quizzed at a high level all year, and has exhibited “Zack in Action.” You can see the love and passion for Bible quizzing this individual has in the way they carry themselves, and they are an excellent example of what a Bible Quizzer is to the entire Arizona District!

This individual has shown excellent control of material, incredible attitude and spirit, wins and loses with grace, has quizzed at a high level all year, and has exhibited “Zack in Action.” You can see the love and passion for Bible quizzing this individual has in the way they carry themselves, and they are an excellent example of what a Bible Quizzer is to the entire Arizona District!
Senior Coach of the Year | Bro. Cameron Gilbert
This individual is one of the most humble and kind people you will ever meet. They are always more than happy to assist in any way and they truly have a deep love and passion for Bible quizzing and the Lord. They are supportive of everyone and you can see their example reflected in the countenance of their quizzers. They are an excellent example of what a passionate coach looks like. They are an incredible asset to Arizona and we are so very thankful to have them apart!
Senior Coach of the Year Runner-Up | Sis. Stephanie Jablonski
This coach does an excellent job with not only their quizzers but they also are kind, uplifting and offering of support to others. You can tell they love Bible quizzing and truly want to see everyone excel and grow. They are kingdom-minded with their approach versus their church minded. They have been a great asset to Arizona and are helping us reach high levels as a quizzing district!
